No, really. It’s okay to make lots of things. Make in volume and/or make in different mediums. If you like cross-stitch, do it! What about resin art? Heck yeah! What about sewing, cosplay foam armor, acrylic pouring, LED programming, 3D printing? YES! Yes, to all of it and more.
You’re allowed to explore and create in whatever ways suit you. Sometimes this is driven by a phase, FOMO, or the need for novelty (looking at you, my fellow neurodivergent humans ❤).
Let’s share with each other what we can make, what we like to make, what we actually make, and anything else about making. You know how it goes, makers gonna make.
I’ll go first. Here are some things that I know how to make and actually make:
• Soap (yes, proper cold process lye soap)
• Crochet stuff (not amigurumi, I’m terrible with those patterns)
• Regular sewing
• Cosplay clothing
• Worbla cosplay things
• Foam clay things (more cosplay)
• Paint (canvas to spray cans)
• Food (full holiday meals to sourdough, pickling, fermenting, and baking)
• Hair accessories
• Minnie Mouse Ears
• Vlogs
• A mess
Okay, the last one is usually a result of doing anything else on the list. I’m sure there’s more, but why keep listing things when we can talk shop together?
This blog is intentionally shorter than usual because I want us to be able to connect. What do you all enjoy making? Any advice on composition? Is anyone familiar with gouache? I just got some and can’t wait to play!
What have you been making lately?
