Getting Personal Again: An Update

So, things have gone mostly well. I wanted to make this a regular update sort of thing, but that obviously didn’t work out. A bad habit of mine, I supposed. In my head, it was GLORIOUS! In reality, it didn’t exist.

There’s 38 days until the honeymoon. I’ve completed 3 (three) full body recomposition programs and missed about 4-5 days collectively. I’m now in the last 2 (two) days of the third program. On January 24th I will be choosing an individual workout every day from the Grow with Jo app.

Which means I’ll most likely be sticking with 1-3 usual workouts and walking A LOT.

Guess how much weight I’ve lost with consistent and mindful practices. Go on, guess. 😀

I’ve gained 8 pounds! (Imagine this is where lack luster, flaming confetti is falling around everywhere.) Yep, GAINED 8 pounds and no movement on my measurements.

Before you ask, yes, I did the following things (and more).

  • Tracked all food and drinks
  • Remained in a calorie deficit
  • Ate whole, unprocessed foods (and plenty of them so I wasn’t f*cking hungry all the time…I’m so bored of broccoli, chicken breast, and cabbage (among other things).)
  • Consumed very limited dairy, sugar, and minimally processed foods
  • Caffeinated little and rarely
  • Maintained excellent sleep hygiene

Y’all, I even went to my doctor. MULTIPLE TIMES! I did a physical, blood work (a lot of vials, it was not a good day), AND checkups. Everything is right as rain, except my Vitamin D levels. Technically, I’m within acceptable parameters, but he wants my levels higher. So, more supplements…joy.

And even following all current annoying advisable advisements, nothing measurable has changed. My husband says my body shape looks slightly tighter and my booty is niiiiiice, but that’s it. I don’t understand why, if I’ve been doing the right things for a long enough amount of time, that more results aren’t apparent.

I remained steadfast in calling myself on my own bullshit. My husband called me on it too (nicely, because he’s awesome like that). One of my brothers even checked in routinely. I did not enjoy or cherish 95% of this process, that’s how I know I really didn’t let myself weasel out of anything.

Then, WHAT THE FLUFF isn’t computing?! Weight went up, fine. My doctor attributes it to muscle gain (I do feel stronger) and possible water weight. What else is off then? More hormone tests? Exercise even more? Start fasting for long periods of time (+24 hours)? My doctor already said he doesn’t agree with long fasting sessions.

Now what? Frankly, my dear Scarlet, I don’t f*cking know. I’m going to stick with the plan from the start of this blog, build some endurance and stamina, and have an exceptional time in Hawai’i for our 4-year delayed honeymoon.

At my husband’s request, I’ve created a coconut shirt. He wanted us to have matching shirts. No joke. God, I love him. Click on the E below and check it out.
